About Dr. Sam Chong
Dr. Sam Chong is a Washington State local with Malaysian-Chinese heritage. He holds the dubious distinction of being the first in his family to make a career of staring into people's mouths.
After graduating from Mercer Island High School in 2013, Sam braved frigid Midwest winters to complete a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biochemistry Concentration at Wheaton College in Illinois. Obtaining admission to several highly-regarded dental schools was a highlight of Sam's senior year, as was learning to make a mean bowl of packet ramen. In 2017, Sam started his dental education at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, and upon graduating in 2021 he obtained his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree.
When he's not caring for patients or researching the latest dental technologies and techniques, Sam enjoys swimming, volleyball, and wakeboarding. His favorite shows are Crash Landing on You, The Mandalorian, and The Office. Sam plays piano, guitar, and ukulele. He loves Jesus, his family and friends, his dog (Kona), and his cat (Mina). Sam speaks conversational Spanish.
In 2022, Dr. Chong was honored to accept the position of part-time Affiliate Faculty at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Dr. Chong cherishes the opportunity to give back to his profession, and looks forward to guiding the younger generations on their journey to become outstanding dentists.
